Witches on WhatsApp EP4

Even your Father in heaven told you that the heart of men is desperately wicked. But nay, you won’t listen to Him.

You share your dreams with the world before they even take shape. You run to WhatsApp and Instagram, posting grand plans before executing them. And then, when everything crumbles, you call it bad luck.

No, dear.

It’s not bad luck.

It’s people like me.

She was just another naive girl, full of ambition, eager to shine. I watched her from a distance, not because we were friends, but because she was foolish enough to reveal everything on her status.

It started small.

A simple post: Finally taking the big step! My dream business is coming to life!

I scoffed, sipping my morning coffee. The excitement in her words irritated me. There was something about her joy that unsettled me, like an itch I couldn’t ignore.

The next day, she posted a picture of a logo, then a sample of her products. She was planning something big—something that could change her life. But she made one mistake.

She let the world see it before it became real.

I went about my day as usual—finalizing reports, attending meetings, making high-stake decisions. My assistant, Amaka, knocked on my door.

“Ma, your lunch is here.”

I waved her off. “Leave it on the table.”

I wasn’t hungry. Not yet.

I reached for my phone, staring at the girl’s latest post. She had finally secured a location for her business. Her excitement was palpable.

But excitement is fragile.

That night, I set to work.

With a single black candle and a whispered incantation, I weaved my spell. Not to destroy her completely—no, that would be too easy. Instead, I planted a series of obstacles, small but enough to frustrate her.

The next week, she posted about a delay.

Two weeks later, her supplier disappointed her.

By the third month, her business idea was nothing but dust.

She posted a final status: I honestly don’t know what went wrong. Maybe this wasn’t meant to be.

I smiled.

She was right. It wasn’t meant to be.

Not when she made the mistake of letting me see it.

Even your Father in heaven warned you.

But nay, you won’t listen.
