Her father was a bricklayer who worked under the scorching sun for daily pay, and her mother sold roasted corn by the roadside. Feeding was a struggle, and school fees were a luxury. The streets had taught her one thing—if you wanted a good life, you had to grab it with both hands. So when her childhood friend, Teni, invited her to Lagos, promising her “soft life,” she didn’t think twice. “Lagos no be your village,” Teni had laughed over the phone. “If you sabi package, you go blow.” Deòlu packed her few belongings—just a small Ghana-Must-Go bag filled with second-hand clothes and cheap perfume—and boarded a night bus to Lagos. The city was a monster, but she was ready. Apapa Hustle Begins Teni lived in a cramped one-room apartment in Apapa, close to the port. The air smelled of fish and sea salt, and the streets were always busy, filled with truck drivers, market women, and men with wandering ...

1 • Behind The Scenes — The Making of Omoge Kampus

Every story you read on Stories N Series holds a little world behind it — a quiet room, a writer’s heartbeat, and the soft magic that happens before a chapter ever reaches your eyes.

Today, I’m taking you behind the scenes of one of our newest babies on the blog:

Omoge Kampus — A Mid-Century Yoruba Classic.

This story wasn’t just written… it was crafted.

When we first selected Omoge Kampus, we knew one thing for sure:

we wanted readers to feel like they had stepped into the Yoruba 1960s — a world of vintage fashion, deep traditions, bold beauty, and the charm of campus life before modern times took over.

Everything was intentional:

The Language

Each word was carefully chosen to echo the mid-century storytelling style.

Think vintage Yoruba essence, written in English, but still carrying the soul, rhythm, and elegance of the era.

Not too modern. Not too old. Just perfectly nostalgic.

Character Development

Every character was shaped to fit the story’s unique voice.

Their emotions. Their choices. Their fashion.

Their humor.Their flaws.

All deliberately aligned to make the world feel real like you’re watching an old Yoruba movie, but reading it in crisp, modern English.

The Cover Art

Our illustrator worked through the SNS graphics studio to design a cover that captures that vintage warmth.

Soft colors. Old-film texture.

A classic look that whispers, “This story has history in its bones.”

It’s the kind of cover you glance at and instantly know:

There’s drama here.

There’s beauty here.

There’s culture here.

The Story Itself

Omoge Kampus is not just a series.

It’s a masterpiece lovingly built for readers who enjoy old-time campus drama, Yoruba culture, and stories that feel like they carry a heartbeat.

And now…

it’s finally live on the blog.

We can’t wait for you to step into that era — to experience the charm, the mystery, the fashion, the tension, and the sweet chaos of 1960s Yoruba storytelling, remixed for today’s reader.

Dive in and enjoy. We made this one with love.

2 • Behind The Scenes: The Making of Laces & Strings

Every story begins with a whisper — a quiet nudge in the heart that refuses to be ignored.

Laces & Strings started exactly like that.

It wasn’t just a plot idea.

It was a burden, a truth, a mirror held up to so many women (and men) who have spent years shrinking themselves just to be accepted.

Why I Wrote It:

I wanted to write a story that doesn’t just entertain…

but heals.

A story for:

the overthinker,

the giver who never receives,

the one who apologizes for existing,

the one who knows they deserve better but doesn’t know where to start.

Laces & Strings is written as a gentle reminder that choosing yourself is not selfish —

it is survival.

The Character: She wasn’t created to be perfect. She was created to be real.

A girl who once lived her life as a people-pleaser…

the “yes” girl, the one who swallowed her voice, the one who broke inside just to keep relationships together.

But the beauty of her journey is not that she became loud —

it’s that she finally became enough for herself. Her evolution is slow, uncomfortable, and raw.

From shaky boundaries to confident “no’s,”

from seeking validation to validating herself,

from losing herself to finding her own center again.

She becomes someone who holds her self-worth with both hands — firm, tender, unapologetic.

The Heart of the Story: Every chapter is stitched with two things: truth and tenderness.

Because healing isn’t dramatic — it’s small choices repeated daily: standing up for yourself, taking space, choosing peace,

and letting go of strings that tie you to pain.

I wrote Laces & Strings hoping that somewhere, someone would read it and whisper, “Finally… someone understands.”

A Story for Anyone Who’s Ever Lost Themselves

This isn’t just fiction.

It’s a journey.

A quiet revolution.

A soft place to land.

I hope it reminds every reader that they deserve boundaries, softness, and love — especially from themselves.
